Here is a list of games I recommend and the reasons why.

The List

• Baldur's Gate 3
  An amazing CRPG with captivating characters and story. Countless choices with even more outcomes. It's based on the Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition ruleset. Features an extensive character creator. Playing it might feel overwhelming at first, but it plays beautifully once you get the hang of things. I used to think I didn't like CRPGs until I played this game.
• Deep Rock Galactic
  The best co-op experience I've had. It's a first person shooter in which every mechanic and tool has been designed to compliment each other. Also: dwarves in space shooting hordes of bugs. Alcohol is also included.
• World of Warcraft (vanilla)
  I haven't played a MMORPG with a greater sense of adventure than this game. Especially for a new player, the scale of the world is gigantic. The first time I stood before the gates of Ironforge, I felt like a dot-sized dwarf in the scope of the whole universe. The game also heavily encourages and rewards social interactions via dungeons and the profession system. I'd recommend playing WoW Vanilla on the TurtleWOW private server. It's been exceptionally good so far, and it's free!
• Nubby's Number Factory
  A charming plinko-style roguelike with a lovely oldschool aesthetic. It's addictively satisfying to play and pretty straightforward in its mechanics. It was made by just one person and costs less than a kebab!
• Gothic
  An old RPG that feels pretty clunky to play, but has a great atmosphere of isolation. Many people, including me, think the game's jank only adds to its charm.
• Yakuza 0
  An incredibly satisfying beat-em-up with an even more incredible story. It strikes a great emotional balance with its serious story and silly side activities. However, playing it can feel like watching a movie sometimes, due to the high number of cutscenes. But believe me when I say that the story is masterfully written and will probably have you in tears at certain moments.
• Burnout 3: Takedown
  Probably my favorite racing game ever. It's all about high speeds, adrenaline-pumping action and spectacular crashes and the driving model feels just about perfect. I absolutely adore the soundtrack, though I may be a bit biased, because it's all my favorite genre of music. This game also has a high-energy, carefree vibe that I absolutely love. Makes me feel like a carefree teenager all over again.
